Bill Dillon was one of the contractors referred to us by our cabinet supplier and we chose him because experienced, professional, and personable; he was also a licensed electrician.
When our kitchen remodel started, Bill contributed some very progressive ideas to maximize the use of our space and worked with our HOA to introduce ways to comply with the latest local building code requirements. He went to great pains (and ingenuity) to contain and exhaust construction dust and temporarily transferred our refrigerator and stove to operate in our dining room during the reno. Bill's hands-on approach, clear communications and design savvy quickly convinced us that we also needed him to remodel our entry closet and master bath, which he added into our main kitchen project.
Sadly, no sooner were these renovations completed, when a corporate move took us away from our newly completed dream kitchen. Needing to make some last minute repairs and updates to bedroom ceilings and curtain attachments prior to holding an open house, Bill came to our rescue with some very timely remediation efforts that enabled our whole condo to look as great as our kitchen. It sold quite readily, giving us an excellent return on our investment.
Now on the east coast, we are on a mission to find a contractor that will even begin to approach the performance level that we experienced with Dillon Construction.

I would like to provide a strong recommendation for William E. Dillon Jr, Building and Electrical contractor. He recently completed a bathroom remodel at my home in San Mateo. After interviewing and receiving bids from several contractors, we decided to work with Bill. We were impressed with his candor, professionalism, and fair bid. Bill conducted thorough research on every aspect of the project and then discussed a variety of options with me and my husband. We also relied on Bill to provide advice on the design and detailing.
Bill's team worked efficiently and were incredibly neat. Everyday his crew cleaned up the project space, as well as the garage where tools were stored. I was impressed that the remodel space remained neat and organized throughout the project. I was also impressed that throughout the project, Bill provided updates on the project, timeframes, and completed the project within the estimated timeframe. Bill was also very respectful of when my family's schedule and minimized the disruption to our household schedule. The final remodel was beautiful and we were thoroughly satisfied.

Bill Dillon does excellent work. He and his team performed an entire remodel of my house and every element of the construction was performed with high quality. They are also thoughtful about the construction. It was not without issues, however. The plans were drawn in a way that showed the bathroom to not be exactly adjacent to a hall waywall, which would have looked odd. Bill's team noticed the mistake and took the initiative to construct it correctly. They think outside of the box, not simply following orders.
They take pride in their craftsmanship and thoughtfulness. Bill is a good communicator and very responsive on text. An essential element for quick decision making, as there are thousands to make during a home remodel. His crew is well mannered and courteous. They take pride in their work and it shows in the finished product.

"I was referred to Dillion Construction by a friend, who thought very highly of his work. I was looking for a construction company to earthquake retrofit my home. I called Bill and he came up with a plan to retrofit my large unfinished basement. I was satisfied with the plan he proposed and had a retired contractor review the plan and the cost. He confirmed my opinion, that it was a comprehensive plan at a reasonable price. Bill and his crew emptied the contents of the basement and got to work. The project came in on time and on budget.
This past Winter I noticed water leaking into our living room and basement. Bill diagnosed the problem and gave me two alternatives to seal the leak. One was caulking with a sealant or a more extensive and expensive repair, which involved removing some of the decking. I chose the later. Our leak problem has been resolved.

"Bill Dillon converted our half-bath into a full handicap bathroom with a wheel chair accessible shower.  They are able to incorporate all of our needs and ideas into a workable plan. They secured all of the necessary permits and inspections. In order to do the job, Bill had to relocate the bathroom fixtures, water heater and laundry. They found space, to add a full sized pantry cupboard, to the back porch.

"Bill Dillon of William E. Dillon Construction has done work for us on both our residents in San Carlos and on commercial real estate. As an example on a remodel at our residents, it was Bill who recommended we remove the existing eight foot ceilings and create cathedral ceilings to compliment the rooms expanded size, his recommendation was right on. "Bill, being the perfectionist, also insisted that at his expense he bring back the sub who had done the ceiling taping as Bill wasn't at all pleased with the way the seams looked. In fact we were quite satisfied, however Bill insisted. When the ceiling was to his satisfaction Bill came back on a Saturday to repaint the ceiling all at no extra cost to us. Bill's reason for wanting the ceiling redone was that the work his sub did was a direct reflection of his workmanship and it was subpar. This spoke volumes to us about Bill's commitment to not just meet, but exceed expectations.
"During the work performed, attention was given to keeping the work area clean, managing the dust, by walling off the other rooms in the house and protecting the existing floor by putting down not just drop cloths, or paper, but plywood to protect them.
"Unlike other contractors we have worked with, Bill provided a turnkey approach, providing recommendation on the designer, engineer, obtaining of the permit and recommendations to reduce cost. Additionaly, Bill was on time, worked every date at the site and met our deadline expectations.
